Bellegrove Road, our address, is part of the main road through Welling. East Wickham is about 0.4 miles from the office and Falconwood about half a mile, so for much of DA16 we are the removal company round the corner.

Streets in the Welling Station CPZ include Bellegrove Road (even numbers from No. 42 to about No. 168, odd numbers from No. 47b to No. 199), Central Avenue, Cavendish Avenue and a short stretch of Wickham Street. The Welling Town Centre CPZ includes all of Nags Head Lane, the lowest numbers on Bellegrove Road (Nos. 1 to 47 and 2 to 40) and set stretches of Welling High Street, Upper Wickham Lane and Hook Lane. Neither list is complete, so check your own street on Bexley's controlled parking zones page before moving day.
Pay and display bays here are short stay, with two hours at most on Bellegrove Road and one or two on the High Street.
For a longer stop, Bexley Council can suspend a bay with three working days' notice or more. On yellow lines, single or double, the van needs a dispensation instead, applied for by the working day before, and it won't cover pavements, verges, dropped kerbs, bus stops, disabled bays, loading-ban areas or zig-zag markings. The A207 runs through Welling as Bellegrove Road and the High Street, and a large Russian gun is on display where Upper Wickham Lane meets it at Welling Corner.
Most of the family houses went up between the wars. Bexley Urban District Council built 426 homes under the Welling Council Housing Scheme in the 1920s. In the 1930s New Ideal Homesteads laid out the Falconwood Park Estate, around 2,000 homes on about 300 acres.
In the Falconwood & Welling ward, Bexley's 2018 household survey recorded 49.9% of homes as semi-detached, 28% terraced, 12.2% flats and 8.2% bungalows. East Wickham ward is 62.7% semi-detached.

Blackfen is about a mile from our office in a straight line, Bexleyheath about 1.7 miles, Shooters Hill about 1.8 miles and Sidcup about 2 miles, all short runs for our vans. Across the rest of the borough, our Bexley removals page covers Old Bexley and the council's parking rules.
Is all of DA16 covered by Bexley Council?
Almost all of it. Welling is part of the London Borough of Bexley, and so is most of DA16, but a small part falls in Greenwich's Shooters Hill ward. Check which council your street comes under before you plan parking for the van.
Can the van use the pay and display bays on Bellegrove Road?
Only for a short stop. Those bays have a two-hour maximum, too short to load a whole house, so for a house move Bexley needs your parking bay suspension application three working days ahead at the latest. Bexley's confirmation email is what makes it valid.
Where can we leave our own car in Welling while the van loads?
Bexley runs two 24-hour council car parks in Welling: Nags Head Lane (DA16 1QN, 73 bays) and Westwood Lane (DA16 3QS, 125 bays, 2.1 metre height limit). Moving your car to either one frees the driveway or the kerb outside for the van, but check the tariff board for how long you can stay. Street pay and display bays are short stay, so they won't cover the whole day.
We're only moving a few streets within Welling. Do you still need a survey?
Not always, as it's how much you're moving that counts, not how far. We can price a few rooms or a handful of items from your itemised list, but for a whole house, even one in the next street, we'd normally see it first, at a home visit or by video.
Our house is on the Falconwood Park Estate. Is that local for you?
Yes. Falconwood is about half a mile from our office, which makes it one of the closest areas we cover. We handle moves within the estate, elsewhere in Welling and anywhere else in the UK.
Is storage available if our Welling sale completes before the purchase?
Yes. Pick storage on the quote form and tell us roughly how long the gap is. We'll then go through the storage options with you alongside the quote for your move.
