Say Bexley and people mean one of two places: the borough as a whole, or Old Bexley, the village around Bexley station in DA5. From our Welling office, the village is about 2.6 miles as the crow flies and roughly 3.5 miles by road.
We take on moves inside the borough, into it and out of it. DA5 also covers Blendon and parts of Albany Park and Joyden's Wood. Expect no hard sell, just a clear price, and for a small move a list of the items is often enough to quote from.

See storage optionsFor many moves, Bexley Council plays no part, because a driveway or an empty stretch of kerb is enough. Where the van must stand in a marked bay, you need what the council calls a parking bay suspension, and removals are an accepted reason. Anyone can apply by registering on the Bexley permit portal, and if you are not sure whether you need one, ask at your survey. The rules and fees as of 27 September 2026:
Apply three or more working days ahead, counting Monday to Friday only and leaving out bank holidays.
A single application reserves at most five bays, for no more than 14 days.
The council may inspect the location first. Don't rely on the suspension until its confirmation email arrives, after which temporary signs go up.
Guideline fees: £50 a bay for each day, or £150 a bay for a week, with the exact cost shown on application.
Red routes are handled by Transport for London, so Bexley cannot suspend bays or grant dispensations on them.
Old Bexley sits where two ancient tracks met at a ford on the River Cray, and the council's conservation area appraisal says that street pattern survives. It describes a relatively narrow, winding High Street with buildings right up against the footway. The railway, opened in 1866, crosses it on a raised brick viaduct that splits the village into north and south.
Where a front door opens straight onto the pavement, there is no drive or garden to stage furniture, and the van's stopping place needs agreeing in advance. The appraisal, which predates the council's 2023 Local Plan, also flags frequent congestion at the High Street and Bourne Road mini roundabout, with traffic busiest at rush hour, so an off-peak start is worth raising at your survey.
For moves out of the area, the A2 is close by at the Black Prince interchange, next to Hall Place on Bourne Road and about five miles from junction 2 of the M25.

Find Out More!Bexley Village marks the edge of the suburbs, with Green Belt fields to the east and south, and a mix of homes around it. In other parts of the borough the housing changes, and the Welling, Bexleyheath and Belvedere pages cover their own streets. Each type below changes the plan, so show us yours by video or in person before we price it:
18th and 19th-century brick terraces on the High Street and North Cray Road. The older ones open straight onto the road.
Smaller houses on Salisbury Road and Albert Road, laid out after the railway came.
Larger Victorian villas on the Parkhurst estate just north of the village, a separate conservation area.
Semi-detached houses, which the council's Local Character Study says make up a high proportion of homes in the Sidcup and Bexley Village area.
Homes in the one or two storeys above the village shop parades.

Recently used Mandy’s Movers for my house move after being recommended by a friend. We couldnt recommend them highly enough. They made the whole house move very easy and quick start to finish. Dealt with Ben for the quote which was done within same day of viewing property. Ben was very helpful and quick to reply throughout the moving process and easy to contact when we were deciding on a moving date. The guys who moved us on the day were great and nothing was a problem. Very quick process on the day and really good value. Nice guys too so a really good company to use.

I can’t say anything about this firm other they are AMAZING!!. I run my own legal practice and have referred 4 clients so far to Mandy’s Movers, each feeding back rave reviews about them. The guys are happy, professional, always on time and most of all careful with your precious possessions. If you want a truly wonderful removal experience with a lovely bit of personality then Mandy’s Movers should be your one and only phone call.

Our office is in Welling, so removals in Welling are closest to home for us, and Bexleyheath, Sidcup and Belvedere each have a page of their own.
Dartford, just beyond DA5, is covered as well.
Do you work across the whole London Borough of Bexley, or only in the village?
The whole borough, from DA5 and Sidcup across to Bexleyheath and Belvedere, as it all sits within the South East London area we serve. We also handle removals Bexley to Kent and on to anywhere else in Britain.
Can a removal van load on yellow lines in Bexley?
Usually, for a limited time. Bexley's controlled parking zone guidance allows active loading for up to 40 minutes unless restrictions say otherwise. One kerb blip means no loading at the times on the nearby sign, and two blips mean none at any time. For a longer stop, get a parking dispensation through the Bexley permit portal at least one working day ahead (guideline £25 per vehicle per day, September 2026).
Is Bexley High Street in a controlled parking zone?
Yes. Bexley Village is in the Bexley Station zone, which covers all of the High Street, Albert Road, Salisbury Road, Manor Road, Manor Way, Parkhurst Road, Thanet Road and Oxford Mews, and parts of Bourne Road, North Cray Road, Vicarage Road, Hurst Road and Parkhill Road. Check the controlled hours on the zone entry signs against your moving day.
We live in a flat above a shop in Bexley Village. Can you move us?
Yes. A flat up one or two flights of stairs with no lift is normal work for us. Tell us the floor, where the street door opens and the closest legal spot for the van, so the crew and kit can be planned around it.
How much do removals in Bexley cost?
There is no rate card, so the figure comes from your own move. In Bexley Village, access usually shapes it most: stairs with no lift up to a flat above a shop parade, or a High Street terrace with no drive, where the van cannot always stop at the door. Volume, distance and extras such as packing or storage then complete the price.
Our DA5 address is in Joyden's Wood. Is that Bexley Council or Dartford?
It depends on the street. DA5 is the Bexley postcode district, but it spans both council areas, and Joyden's Wood sits across the boundary with most of it on the Dartford side. The Bexley permit portal is Bexley Council's, so confirm your road is on the Bexley side before applying there for a bay suspension.
If your home opens directly onto Bexley High Street or sits above a village shop, mention it in your quote request, as it shapes the loading plan. The request itself takes about two minutes. You can also call, text or WhatsApp 07851 152881, or email info@mandysmovers.com.
